Wink & Tell

Smart marketing.
A little personality.

I make complex businesses easier to understand and their value harder to miss.

The person behind the work

Hello, I’m Liz.

Liz smiling outdoors among flowers
Hi, I’m Liz.

I’ve been working in marketing since 2013. Still curious. Still noticing the little things.

I’m the Marketing Manager at Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. My work spans strategy, writing, design, social, email and video, with experience across construction, retail, healthcare and small business.

Wink & Tell is where I collect the work, ideas and creative experiments that have shaped my career in marketing.

A good storefront sign. A font I can’t stop looking at. A social post that actually has something to say. Those things belong here, too.

In the Feed.

Still my work. Just a little more of what goes into it. Design advice, everyday inspiration, creative experiments, and the occasional opinion from Scoots.

Useful social advice

Your business isn’t boring.

Three fixes for posts that could work harder.

My point of view

A few things I stand by.

01

Make it feel like you.

AI can help with a draft. It doesn’t get the final say on your voice, your facts or your taste.

02

Give each platform a reason.

The exact same post everywhere? Different platforms, different behavior. Adapt the idea to the place.

03

Build beyond the feed.

Your email list matters. Keep building a direct connection with the people who want to hear from you.

How I work

A little method to the magic.

I start by understanding the business and its audience, then make the message useful in the places people will encounter it.

01 / Understand

Learn the business.

I talk with the people closest to the work and check the facts before deciding what to emphasize.

02 / Find the thread

Find the message.

I identify what the audience needs to know and choose the format that will explain it clearly.

03 / Make and refine

Make and refine it.

I write, design or produce the piece, review it in context and adapt it for each channel.
